PROFES is the premier forum for practitioners, researchers, and educators to present ands innovations, as well as concerns related to software process and product quality improvement. discus experiences, ideas, PROFES 2010 will be the 11th gathering of the PROFES community and will take place in Limerick, Ireland.

Traditionally, PROFES has provided topics, which are up-to-date, important, and interesting. To ensure that PROFES will retain its high standards and that it will keep focusing on the most relevant research issues, the conference is widening its scope to the research areas collaborative and agile software development and Service-Oriented systems

Main themes: Agile and Lean Processes and Engineering Service-Oriented Systems

These two main themes will enable us to cover the contemporary software development demands and trends in comprehensive manner and tackle the most important current challenges identified by software industry and software research community - namely agility and the shift of focus from "products" to "services".

The technical program will feature invited talks, research papers, experience reports on the most relevant topics related to processes for developing software intensive services and products. In addition, we will host a number of workshops and tutorials. We will also host a Doctoral Symposium (see www.lero.ie/PROFES2010).

The topics of interest in the conference include, but are not restricted to, the following:

  • Service Engineering Processes
  • Software as a Service
  • Agile and Lean Processes
  • Software Process Improvement (SPI) for Quality Products and Services
  • SPI in Different Software Development Areas (e.g., requirements, architectures, and testing)
  • Global Software Development
  • Systems and Software Quality
