Short papers do not always need to report such complete results as full conference papers and so can be a good way to fast track new technical work. There will be a special session at PROFES 2010 for the presentation of short papers.

Topics of Interest

The relevant topics of interest include, but are not restricted to, the following:

Service Engineering Processes

Software as a Service

Agile and Lean Processes

Product Focused Software Process Improvement (SPI)

SPI in Different Software Development Areas

SPI Methods and Tools

Distributed Software Development

Systems and Software Quality

Evidence-Based Software Engineering

Industrial Experiences and Case Studies

Process Modeling and Simulation

Process Assessment and Management

Software Business Models and Cost Estimation

Poster Sessions

Effectively designed posters convey the essence of an idea, an experience or a piece of research in an appealing manner. Work presented in a poster does not have to be fully developed and can be a good way to get early feedback on new ideas. A good poster will encourage conference participants to interact with others who are also attracted to the poster topic. Good posters can be a catalyst for developing and extending topic networks. The poster session at PROFES 2010 aims to bring like-minded people together in an interactive setting.

Submissions

Short papers must not be more than 4 pages and poster proposals not more than 2 pages. Each submission will be reviewed by the short paper and poster review panel. Accepted short papers and posters must conform to the ACM author guidelines and will be published in Volume 2 of the PROFES 2010 proceedings. Publication is dependent on at least one author registering to attend PROFES 2010.

Submissions should be sent as PDF files to 2010profes@gmail.com on or before the deadline.

ACM author guidelines can be found here: http://www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates

Important Dates

<colgroup><col width="221" /><col width="300" /></colgroup>

Short papers submission deadline:

extended to April 9, 2010 (was: April 5, 2010)

Posters submission deadline:

extended to April 9, 2010 (was: April 5, 2010)

Notification of Acceptance:

(Fri) May 7, 2010

Camera Ready:

(Mon) May 17, 2010

Short Paper and Poster Co-chairs

Tracy Hall Brunel University, UK.
